What made me dedicate life to teaching?

Performing and teaching gives me joy and I wouldn’t want to do one without the other. I became a better artist through teaching because I understand my body and how the technique can enhance one’s quality of movement, “Being a performer and a teacher can go hand in hand. It’s an asset to be able to because it can lead to other opportunities. I have a passion to provide opportunities for students to continue to share their skills and become artistic leaders. I would like to spread this message to my students that ‘Whatever you pursue, you can be successful,’ and so through thinking that they can be successful, they become successful,”

Why has the IB impacted me as a teacher?

Teaching IB has helped me to reflect and take action. It has played a very important role in enhancing my teaching practices and helped me to build and maintain a collaborative relationship that supports the wellbeing of the learning community.

Most meaningful experience teaching IB?

The most meaning full experience which I had teaching IB is that you can Influence the Future. As a teacher, you are giving children the skills they need to go out into the world and succeed. Teaching PYP DANCE at DIA has been an interesting journey. It’s amazing to see learners use content to understand big ideas (concepts), and the idea of teaching through key and related concepts puts IB education in a very special place.
